Thanks for joining us in the 4th annual Golf Club at Rocky Mount Races. With nearly 300 registered runners we are pleased to have raised over $2,200 for local Scouting. Running on the paths is easily one of the nicest 5ks and 10ks you will experience in North Carolina. We keep the race a "comfortable" size to ensure a fun experience by everyone involved. Over crowding the course with extra runners will take away from your enjoyment. Every year we have sold out both the 5k and the 10k early. You will not want to be left out.

For the fourth straight year we will have custom race medals! These medals plus over $1,500 of Raleigh Running Outfitters gift certificates make for an outstanding prize package.

Registration is now open. Please note that you are encouraged to pick a Scout Unit to reward a "point" to in our Pack/Troop Challenge. This can be done as part of your race registration, and does not add any cost. Help up support local Scouting by participating.

SHIRTS ARE NO LONGER GUARANTEED FOR THE 5K AND FUN RUN. IF THERE ARE EXTRA SHIRTS AFTER THE RACE THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO MISSED OUT. ALTERNATIVELY 5K RUNNERS CAN DECIDE NOT TO GET A SHIRT AND SAVE $5 WITH THE CODE "NOSHIRT"

Via Route 64 (East or West):

1. Take exit 468 onto Wesleyan Blvd.
2. Take Route 301 North.
3. Turn left at the Ford's Colony entrance.
4. Turn right onto Ford's Colony Club.
5. Turn right into the parking lot.
6. The sales office is located at 26 Ford's Colony Court.

Via Interstate 95:

1. Take Exit 145.
2. Take Rt. 4 to Route 301 South.
3. Turn right at the Ford's Colony Main Entrance.
4. Turn right onto Ford's Colony Club.
5. Turn right into the parking lot.

09/10/10 Packet Pickup is Friday 09/10

Please try to pick up your race packet on Friday from noon to 6:00 pm at the Harrison Family YMCA in Rocky Mount. It is a tremendous help to have packets picked up prior to race day. Plus, you can relax the morning of the race without having to worry as much. There is still space available in the 10k. You can sign up at the packet pickup. See you this weekend!

09/09/10 5k is Sold Out!

The 5k race has sold out for the third consecutive year. This year we increased capacity to 170 runners, and still filled up. Thank you runners! There is still space available in the Fun Run and the 10k.

07/07/10 Current Pack/Troop Challenge Standings

05/21/10 Race to Benefit Local Scouting

The race committee is thrilled to announce that we have a new partnership with the Tar River District Scouts. The 2010 Golf Club at Rocky Mount 5k & 10k race will raise money to benefit the Tar River District Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. In total we expect to raise over $3,500 to benefit local scouting. One key potion of our contribution will be the Pack/Troop challenge where each Unit will try to encourage people to run the race. 05/12/10 Race Date Is Confirmed

The race date is now confirmed for September 11, 2010. The staff at the Golf Club at Rocky Mount are exacted to once again welcome runners from all of the state of North Carolina to participate in on of the most unique foot races in the south east. Online registration opens on June 1st. See you at the races!

05/01/10 New Race Name

The Ford's Colony 5k & 10k is know known as the Golf Club at Rocky Mount 5k & 10k. The race will still be held at the same location, and the race course's will still traverse the wide paths of the golf course. The only change is the name!

The Golf Course is now under and new management group, and open for business. Golfers have been quickly grabbing tee times to enjoy one of the nicest courses in the south east. We encourage you to set up a tee time today by calling 252-973-0800. If you are a passionate golfer, or new to the game, you will not be disappointed with the new Golf Club at Rocky Mount!

03/29/10 Plans are Underway for 2010

The race committee is working with the staff at Ford's Colony now to once again host one of the most unique 5k/10l race options in North Carolina. Tentatively the race date is set for September 11, 2010, and registration will open on May 1st. Follow us on facebook to stay up to date with all race activities.

09/01/09 2009 5k is SOLD OUT!

90 runners registered in the Ford's Colony Race in the last week, and we are about to break 300 total participants! We are very excited to announce that for the second year in a row, the 5k has sold out! We honestly would love to take more runners, but the nature of the race course, and the limited parking simply does not allow for us to exceed the limits we have set. The is still space available in the 10k, and the Family Fun Run. Don't wait to register, as those will likely be gone quickly too.

08/27/09 2009 Award Winner Medals Arrived.

At the Ford's Colony Races, we provide custom medals for the overall and age group winners in the 5k and 10k event. We believe in a quality medal that can only be found at our race. Nothing generic at our race award! We were very excited when we found the 2009 awards waiting on our door step, and we wanted to share a picture. You can click the image to see it full size. 08/24/09 BIG Registration Weekend

We just had our biggest registration weekend ever. We are very excited that one of our local high school cross country teams decided to enter Ford's Colony as a training race. This plus the upcoming price increase has created a flurry of registrations. The 5k is on pace to sell out a week early, and the 10k may also be filled before race day. Don't delay!

CONFIRMED! Thank you for signing up for The Golf Club at Rocky Mount 5k & 10k. You receipt has been emailed to you. Please PRINT THE RECEIPT and bring it with you to the event. This plus a PHOTO ID is required to pick up your race packet.

STAY UP TO DATE: Please continue to visit us at online for current information on the race, or join our Facebook group. We really enjoying keeping our runners up to date, with exciting information through Facebook. This is also a great place to talk to other runners and ask questions.

PACKET PICK UP: Runners are strongly encouraged to pick up their race packets on the Friday before the race. The location will be announced shortly. Race morning will be very busy, so avoid the long lines and get your packets early!
